We Are Family!

February 26, 2017

Team Runners Lane is mentioned all the time in my blog posts for good reason. These people have motivated me on my wellness journey…and it’s this community that birthed SuccessFit4Life!

SuccessFit4Life! is simply about encouraging people on their wellness journey…wherever they want to go. I’ve accomplished things I never thought possible through this group.

This old guy has completed two half marathons. At this stage of my life, that’s as far as I want to go. Many have a marathon on their bucket list. I don't. I'm very happy to be doing what I do being older...and with a fused ankle.

Flo Mina from Runners Lane leads our group. As we train for events, there is a mileage training schedule. If you do the miles you can accomplish the goal. For my half marathons, I did all the training miles…and completed the race. 13.1 miles is half of a marathon and is still a very long distance!

There are a few races that are always on the training schedule. The LA Marathon is one of them. For these races, we have a support team, which moves into action on race day and for long training runs.

My goal these days is to run less, ride my bike more, walk and hike. I have some physical issues and this is my plan to stay well...so I can keep moving. For the 22-mile LA Marathon training run, we had an aid station and I was blessed to be able to help some people along the way. Being able to do that was a blessing.

Our group is made up of all kinds of people. Big, small, tall, short, fast and slow. Some, like me, are not your typical runners. Anyone…and any age can get moving. Moving is good!

Team Runners Lane is family. We support each other in many ways. If you don’t have a support group, I would encourage you to seek one out. It will help you do things you never imagined you could do.
