As an old guy with a fused ankle reflecting on the completion of my second half marathon, I can honestly say there is satisfaction in completing a goal. It was a long 13.1 miles and I admit most people walk faster than I run, but that’s ok. Slow is better than not moving. I am proud of the goal I achieved. I hope you are ending your year positive about what you have accomplished both in your business and personal life.
Many have followed my running journey and life change through SuccessFit4Life!™ blog posts. Getting more active came with the encouragement of people I have met through Runners Lane in my community, as well as people within my industry. SuccessFit4Life! was birthed from my experiences. I want to encourage others as I have been encouraged.
Relationships are a natural part of our lives. But there is a lot we often don’t know about our friends. We may have no clue they are athletes; running, biking and doing challenging events like Warrior Dash, Ragnar, Spartan or Tough Mudder to name a few. A goal of SuccessFit4Life! is to encourage people on their wellness journey…wherever they want to go.
Setting goals in our business and personal lives is important. When I committed to accomplishing the goal of doing a half marathon, it came with being diligent in working towards accomplishing this goal. I followed the training schedule that was laid out by Flo Mina from Runners Lane who leads our running group. Some did the full marathon and others did the half or 5K. Those who did the training accomplished their goal.
After the race, Team Runners Lane took over a room at a local restaurant for our traditional dinner to celebrate our accomplishments. Flo Mina who leads our running group talked about our next goal. What??? Our next goal! I was feeling the pain from what I just accomplished. I couldn’t think about the next goal! But she was right. We need to have the next goal in place pretty quickly so we don’t lose momentum.
The beautiful part of SuccessFit4Life! is that we all can encourage each other to accomplish our wellness goals which also tie to our personal and professional goals.
In addition to encouraging people to take control of their health, the SuccessFit4Life! WELLNESS PROGRAM and fund raising SuccessFit4Life! EVENTS enable businesses and organizations of all sizes to do good stuff.
So, what’s next? For me one goal I have is to stay healthy, so I can keep moving. My next business goals are also coming together and like training for the half marathon, I will be diligent in sticking to a schedule to accomplishing those.
