True confession. I’ve been a bit of a slug lately. Yeah…I’ve been injured, but that’s no excuse. When you are not active, it affects you mentally and physically. It’s been bugging me and of course what we do with our lives is completely our choice. No excuses.
I decided to do a mid-day run and it really was awesome. I’m blessed to have access to some pretty cool terrain that’s very close. I can run across a freeway bridge and get into a canyon area that’s very nice. This run was hot and included hills. I wanted to take a picture of the squirrels and cottontail rabbits, but they were moving too fast. Stepping away from the office and experiencing this just clears your head.
As I’ve started to get moving again, I realize why running why I enjoy this sport. It’s so freeing to just get out and go! My goal was to go 3 miles but I really wanted to go more, even though I’m not a fan of heat or hills, but I know they make you stronger. (Got that Flo!) I did have a 1:00 meeting and had to keep my time in check, but I want to encourage people to get out when you can. Walk, run, ride, hike, swim…whatever.
Step away from the computer and do something. That’s what I’m talking about!
