One of the great things about running is you can do it anywhere. On a couple of recent trips, I’ve had the privilege to get out in run in beautiful places.
This run along the Cumberland River outside of Nashville, Tennessee was awesome. On my half marathon training schedule for the week was 7 miles. I drove close to an hour to get here but it was worth it.
I’m discovering that I just like getting out and moving. This is a change of life for me…and it’s part of my personal journey. I’m only accountable to myself, but I wanted to stay on my training schedule and it’s odd that I have come to actually enjoy running. (This is coming from an old guy with a fused ankle.)
I’ve found that I feel best when I keep moving. It helps me physically and mentally. Based on my personal experience, I believe that anyone, at any age will benefit from being active. It was amazing there. Had I not taken the initiative to get out, I never would have had this experience.
If I wouldn’t have done this run, I wouldn’t have met this amazing man. He rides 12 miles a day!
